About Mary

I’m a married mom to two grown sons, Ethan & Thad. I live in North Carolina with my husband, Dale, and our dog, Grady. My favorite ways to spend time are with my family, friends, reading, playing golf, taking long walks and, of course, writing.

I write, because my insides get filled up with words, and it seems I can’t do anything until I get them out of my body. If you spend any time here, you’ll learn I didn’t grow up in a home where anyone was curious about my internal world, so I just walked around with all these thoughts and feelings, trying to figure them out on my own. Writing in my diary helped me make sense of things.

It would be nice if I could simplify things and say my blog was about cooking or learning how to play bridge. (I am on my fourth beginner bridge class. I love it, but it isn’t easy.) If you look at my categories, you’ll see I write about various topics. I kind of treat this as a conversation with a close friend. I would of course love to hear your reply to anything I write. It would be great to keep the conversation going.
